Digital Technologies: How my skills have progressed and how they have helped me in my productions

Digital technologies have a had a massive influence on media production over the last few years and since I started in Year 12 I have learned a massive amount about how to use them and what the benefits are of using them.  They in turn have had a massive impact on the quality of your finished products.

At we used premiare pro to edit our footage for our film, prelim and any other recorded footage such as interviews and montages.At A2 we used premiare pro in a different way by exploring music videos instead of films ,creating our preliminary scene for scene remake of a music video, steel-o- matic and finally our final music video which required more editing due to the fact it needed alot of quick cuts and edits in order to keep the video flowing and keep it interesting.At AS we used facebook to Keeo connected yo our group all the time and figure out when we would be available. This helped to come up with ideas outside of class and talk to eachother about certain props, costumes and locations. At A2 we used facebook in a different way. We basicall used facebook in the same way, still keeping in touch with our group and sharing our ideas outside of class however this time we made our artist a facebook premotional page to advertise him and his new album. 

At As we use Youtube to upload our raw and edited footage , research  examples of movie openings created by established directors and even independent movies. We also looked at other schools that were doing the same task.in order to get greater influence for our film openings we looked at indapendent movies such as the selfish giant. We also looked at hollywood block buster movie openings such as resident evil. This managed to help us understand more about the importance of opening titles. We also used youtube to vlog about our progress while also finding inspiration and researching videos of a similar genre. At A2 we used Youtube in a different way. We still Used youtube to upload our footage to the internet in order to put them onto our blogs. We also used it to find the music that we wanted to use for our music video. After this we found examples of music videos in order to get inspiration and collected clips to make our steel-o-matic. We also used youtube to find videos that were similar in various ways such as lana del reys old time 50's-60's vibe. 

At As we used digital cameras to record all of our footage such as the Juno task, Preliminary task, video sweeds, final production, interviews ,montages and sped up videos (e.g. my makeup and drawings) .At A2 we used digital cameras in a different way by actually taking photographs, recording our footage such as lip sych practice, banana phone filming task, interviews, preliminary task and final production. This was different in the way that when we came to creating the banana phone filming task we had to do new things such as stop motion. 

At As we used fireworks/photoshop to create movie posters , mood boards and the opening titles which wasnt much because at the time we didnt know very much. At A2 we used fireworks/ photoshop in a different way to create premotional photographs, posters, website background, merchandise, mood boards and a digipak. As you can see i have gained alot more knowlage of photoshop between AS and A2 and have used my newly found knowlage to my desposal.
