what does outsourcing our young people mean? It means giving ones self over to companies, technology etc giving ones self over to the internet ,your identity now belongs to the internet.
It is very common in this day and age with the endless and limitless findings on the internet for young boys to get addicted to adult videos. Due to this it shapes their ideals on relationships and women. A study has shown that people who are addicted to these videos ideally want the same from their partners as they do on their videos including image and performance. This also shapes their idea on love blurring the line between love and lust. and in some way ruining love for young adults because they are trying to get something that isn't real. This can also result in a sexist mind set and also degrade women by playing webcam games with their friends where they try to get the girls to take their clothes off. Websites such as chat roulette or omeagle allow this to happen.
An interview Nicholas Negroponte found that in his words "the people who invented the internet had no idea what they were doing, they had no idea that it would become the basis of society This issue was never considered during the making of the internet"
Dr norman doidge explained that for young people sex is extremely aggressive and a big part of teen society. People often try to out do eachother. The guy that gets the most girls is the best etc. but this is a double standard for girls. If a girls gets with alot of guys she puts out too much and is shunned from society.

Demonisation of teenagers in the media
Social media , teenage identification
Thomas de zengitita 2005 mediated.
"Almost everything we know about the world comes to us through some kind of media"
"This influences our view of the world and even our self definition"
Lacan- Mirror image, identification and aspiration .
collective identity :youth demonisation
"kids are out of control they're roaming the streets , they're out late at night - gordon brown 2008
"ferral,cruel and ruthless"
"animals ruining peoples lives"
"To hell with Human rights" "parasites"
How media today represent youth in different ways?
what effect do these representations have. how young people use social media to create a collective identity. How identity is increasingly construction through or in response to the media.
Out of 6500 stories about teen boys over half were about crime and only one in 10 allowed a young persons voice to be heard.
Media exaggerative stories and in result give a bad reputation for all teenagers. Good and bad young people get lumped together just because of the reputation of their age ( the media generalises and does not look at these people and individuals).
Judging teenagers by one look and not taking into consideration their background and environment.(doesn't give these people a chance) Hanging around with the wrong people(peer pressure) Frightened of others and there for try to blend in, in order to stay away from trouble (with us or against us)

Teen trends
with the rise of the internet coming around in the early 90's teenagers spent alot of time enjoying the new things technology had to offer including the gameboy, walkman, nintendo 64 etc. This brought around with it the rise of the teenage shut in where as before teenagers had to make their own fun they now had fun right at their finger tips. However with the rise of the walkman this allowed teens to be able to listen to their favourate music on the go.

Music of the 90's
http://www.mtv.co.uk/music/charts/the-official-top-100-singles-of-the-90s
1. BRITNEY SPEARS(BABY ONE MORE TIME)She first gained national notice as a member of The New Mickey Mouse Clubon Disney's cable network, but it was as a pop singer that Britney Spears became the most watched celebrity in the world. Her first single "...Baby One More Time" is a brilliant piece of pop music. It's catchy, sexy, and it sports a mildly controversial video certain to keep people talking.
2.NIRVANA (SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT) The emergence of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" as a top 10 pop hit remains one of the most dramatic events in pop music of the 1990s. Kurt Cobain's sardonic view of teenagers set amongst a pop melody pounded out by drums and guitars bathed in fuzzed up distortion rattled the pop music establishment. It was all accompanied by a music video that presented a memorable and unrelentingly dark view of the classic school pep rally. Grunge had arrived.
3. Madonna - "Ray of Light" With her first completely new studio album in 4 years, Madonna brought electronica to the top of the pop charts. Working with collaborator William Orbit, the music sounded fresh, new, and invigorating.
spice girls
The Spice Girls were a British pop girl group formed in 1994. The group consisted of five members, who each later adopted nicknames initially ascribed to them: Melanie Brown ("Scary Spice"), Melanie Chisholm ("Sporty Spice"), Emma Bunton ("Baby Spice"), Geri Halliwell ("Ginger Spice"), and Victoria Beckham, née Adams ("Posh Spice"). They were signed to Virgin Records and released their debut single "Wannabe" in 1996, which hit number one in more than 30 countries and helped establish the group as a global phenomenon.
On 7 July 1996, the Spice Girls released their debut single "Wannabe" in the United Kingdom. In the weeks leading up to the release, the video for "Wannabe" (directed by Swedish commercials director Johan Camitz and shot in April at St Pancras Chambers in London), got a trial airing on music channel The Box. The video was an instant hit, and was aired up to seventy times a week at its peak. After the video was released, the Spice Girls had their first live TV slot on broadcast on LWT's Surprise Surprise. The first music press interview appears in Music Week. In July 1996, the group conducted their first interview with Paul Gorman, the contributing editor of music paper Music Week, at Virgin Records' Paris headquarters. His piece recognised that the Spice Girls were about to institute a change in the charts away from Britpop and towards out-and-out pop.

Fashion
The fashion in the 1990s was the beginning of the adoption of tattoos, body piercings aside from ear piercing and to a lesser extent, other forms of body modification such as branding. This brought back the indifferent, anti-conformist approach to fashion, leading to the popularisation of the casual chic look; this included T-shirts, jeans, hoodies, and trainers, a trend which continued into the 2000s.
In the early 1990s, several late 1980s fashions remained very stylish among both sexes. However, the popularity of grunge and alternative rock music helped bring the simple, unkempt grunge look into the mainstream by 1994.
Overall, the 1990s saw a return to the minimalist fashion of the 1950s and 1970s.contrasted to the more elaborate and flashy trends of the 1980s. Additionally, fashion trends throughout the decade recycled styles from previous decades, notably the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.
Hair
Women's hair in the early 1990s continued in the big, curly style of the 1980s.The pixie cut and Rachel haircut, based on the hairstyles of Jennifer Aniston in Friends and Marlo Thomas in That Girl, were popular in America from 1995 onwards
The 1990s generally saw the continued popularity of longer hair on men. In the early 1990s, curtained hair and small ponytails were popular amongyuppies. Other trends included Flattops, Hi-top fades, and cornrows. For teenage boys longer hair was popular in the early to mid-1990s, including collar-length curtained hair, shaggy surfer hair popular among some Britpop fans, and dreadlocks. During the mid-1990s, the much-ridiculed bowl cut became a fad among skaters, while hip-hop fans wore a variant of the flattop known as the Hi-top fade. In the late 1990s, hair was usually buzzed very short for an athletic look, although a few grunge fans grew their hair long in reaction to this. For teenage girls and younger children, hair was worn long with heavily teased bangs called "mall bangs" which were long fringes covering the forehead. Headbands and scrunchies of various styles and colors were popular with girls throughout the early and mid 1990s, and they frequently wore them with side ponytails and bangs.
Makeup
Women's makeup in the early 1990s primarily consisted of dark red lipstick and neutral eyes.Around 1992 the "grunge look" came in to style among younger women and the look was based on dark red lipstick and smudged eyeliner and eyeshadow. Both styles of makeup continued into 1994,[61] but went out of style the next year.
The trends in makeup shifted in the mid 1990s. In 1995, nude shades became desirable and women had a broader color palette in brown. Another makeup trend that emerged was matte lipsticks, with deep shades of red and dark wine colors worn as part of night makeup
